The pink spray behind the main picture links to the introduction which although subtle, shows the link between the pages and makes the magazine look more sophisticated. The picture of the artist does not overlap onto the second page, yet it is clear that he is part of the article as the photo follows the same colour scheme. The pages are linked via the continuation of the background of the picture, which shows the reader that these two pages are linked. It would appeal to teenage boys because of the dramatic colour scheme. Black and white are very contrasting colours and so look very effective when used with each other. The bright pink is used to bring some colour and personality into the magazine. Although pink is stereotypically a female colour, it has been used in a masculine manner. Also, the pink is neon pink which is used to create a night club atmosphere.Double Page Spread Number Two
The colour scheme in this magazine spread allows this double page spread to flow as the same colours are used consistently throughout the article. The faded picture on the left hand side overlaps onto the right side which allows it to flow subtly. The magazine has used two images of the artist to show that the two pages are linked. A quote from the artist is placed in between the two pages and is placed centrally, with the other text and pictures around it. Also, the quote is used in the colour which is included least so that it stands out against the black and white. The same font and style is reflected on both pages so the reader links both pages together.Double Page Spread Number Three
The band members are all dressed in similar colours and attire to show they have a connection. The artists, apart from one are faded out, this shows the reader that this is who the article is about and what band they are a member of so people know exactly who they are. A quote is highlighted in black to make it stand out against the white background which is a simple yet effective technique. The continuation of the white background is a simple and sophisticated way of showing the two pages are linked. The text is small in comparison to the image so that no attention is drawn away from the artist. The magazine have linked the article together by overlapping the picture onto two pages and by incorporating the colours of their clothes into the article.
