School Magazine Research- Contents Pages

Contents Page Number One


The font for this magazine is bold and informal, so it is clear that the audience for this magazine is the pupils. Although the colour scheme is blue, which is classified as a boys colour, this magazine look quite feminine due to the fact that there is flowers and crowns in the background. The bright blue colour gives the magazine a sense of brightness and happiness. In the background also there is aspiring quotations such as “be the best you can be!” and “its up to you!” which is raising the moral of the students, which is encouraging the positive attitude. The photos are stacked upon each other and are crooked which again links into the feel of the magazine being informal and appealing to the pupils. The pictures chosen are presumably of pupils doing fun activities and they are all smiling. The bright blue colour gives the magazine a sense of brightness and happiness. The title “contents” is big and stands out from the rest of the page, however, the remaining text is small and so quite hard to read. The subheadings on this page allow the reader to find what they are looking for easily. This contents page has a whitewashed image as the background so that the dark text is clear and bold. The theme of this contents page links in with the theme of the magazine as it is old fashioned. The corners of the magazine have little patterns on them which makes the magazine instantly more feminine. The image in the background is an image of the pupils in action in the school to remind the reader that it is a school magazine and it is also incorporating school morale and spirit.




Contents Page Number Three



This school has used bright, bold colours as the background to allow it to stand out and make the magazine seem happy, which will raise the readers mood. The images of the pupils looking happy will raise school morale and spirit and it is clear that the target audience for this magazine is the pupils as the text is bold and informal. Also, the title "contents" is colourful and contrasting to the rest of the page which allows it to be clearly identified and brings more colour to the magazine. The same font has been used throughout the page to show consistency which brings a subtle sophistication to the magazine and also shows that it has been cleverly thought out. The name of the magazine, "Challonerchats" is shown behind the contents to remind the reader that it is a school magazine.
